Imagine that between the time when the whole family greeted Caine at the front door and the time when they all sat down to eat, Paul Blaisdell invited Caine into a family room adjacent to both the kitchen and the formal dining room, while Annie, Peter, Carolyn, and Kelly put finishing touches on the meal.
